In 2018, Our Watch commenced the Endorsed Trainers Pilot Project with the aim of increasing the capacity of the prevention workforce nationally. The pilot was designed to help Our Watch move away from direct delivery of training and instead partner with organisational and independent trainers to deliver Our Watch training packages, including Putting the prevention of violence against women into practice: How to Change the story and Workplace Equality and Respect. Through this model, Our Watch supported appropriately qualified practitioners to become Our Watch ‘endorsed trainers’ by providing a two-day training program and ongoing support to deliver either one or both of these two training packages.
I was fortunate enough to work closely with Our Watch throughout the pilot and carry out a developmental evaluation while being immersed in the team. This was a comprehensive evaluation for internal use which drew on a range of data sources and captured key learnings to inform ongoing prevention workforce planning at Our Watch.
